Quarry visit for

Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations (NIFHA)

Tarmac and QPANI played host to a group of Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations (NIFHA) and Housing Associations representatives on Tuesday. The Housing Association delegates attended Craigantlet Quarry as part of their selected study visit, part of the NIFHA Conference 2010 being held at the nearby Le Mon Hotel. 

Eight representatives from NIFHA, the Housing Executive and various Housing Associations from across the province learned of the importance of environmental responsibility in the procurement and supply of construction materials. Topics included Environmental Management Systems, Responsible Sourcing and Carbon Reduction.  The visit gave them an improved understanding of the options available in the procurement of construction materials and to make better informed decision-making.
