The Lough Neagh Sand Traders, comprising of four companies Cemex NI, Northstone, Lagan Group and the Norman Emerson Group, recently donated £4000 to Lough Neagh Rescue to assist them in the purchase of much needed equipment including their new rescue boat “The Bungy”.
This is the second such donation the companies have made to the rescue team in recent years and reflects the value the companies put on the work that the rescue teams do for the users of Lough Neagh. The sand trading companies are part of the Quarry Products Association NI and its Regional Director, Gordon Best, paid tribute to the companies generosity and the very valuable work that Lough Neagh Rescue do “The sand traders play a very important role in the supply chain to the Northern Ireland construction industry and they do so knowing that their men who operate the barges on the Lough have an excellent rescue team to call on should an emergency occur. I am sure I speak for all the companies and their employees when I say that we deeply appreciate the work of Paddy Prunty and his team and we look forward to supporting them in whatever way we can in the future”.
